1985 CHB 42 Sundeck Trawler

Bayonne, New Jersey

$159,900

1985 CHB 42 Sundeck Built by CHB (Chung Hwa Boatworks) in Taiwan, the Present 42 Sundeck was a popular Asian import during the 1980s thanks to an impressive mix of modern styling and traditional teak interior. Her sundeck design allows for maximum space below as well as on deck, and an efficient semi-displacement hull makes the Present 42 an economical boat to operate. Below decks, the two-stateroom interior features a roomy main salon with standard lower helm forward to starboard. A breakfast bar to port overlooks the galley, and a sliding door at the helm provides easy deck access. The parquet salon sole is an attractive feature, and large windows provide plenty of natural lighting and good helm visibility. Opposite the galley is a convertible booth dinette. Forward, the guest stateroom has over/under berths to port and private access to the forward head. Aft, the full-width master stateroom has a walkaround queen berth, private ensuite head with stall shower, and washer/dryer cabinet. The Present’s covered aft deck is perfect for entertaining. Twin 135hp Lehmans diesels offer cruising speeds from 8 to 10 knots.

Well-maintained during her still blossoming life, this CHB Present 42 is one of a kind, with beautiful teak cabinetry and wood parquet floors throughout. Tastefully appointed and recently gone under rigorous refurbishment. She’s powered by simple, reliable, and fuel efficient naturally aspirated Lehman 135hp diesel engines, which cruise her at a very comfortable and efficient 8 knots (equaling a range of almost 1000 nautical miles)

The salon is located midship with sliding door access, which makes for easy entry for both cargos and passengers on starboard side. This main deck salon contains a helm station forward on starboard side and a foldable counter on port side. Windows are dressed with light-filtering pull down shades and lined with ambient LED mood lighting. The exterior of windows is protected by a brand-new layer of Phifertex vinyl mesh screens, which provides best-in-class heat absorption that keeps the cabin cool, while also maximizes privacy without obstructing the ability to look out. Along the starboard side there is a sofa with end table / storage, entertainment center and a Sony 4K 50” flat screen TV. Armchair with foot stool is positioned across from sofa. Salon floor is wood parquet throughout.

The aft stateroom has a full queen size centerline bed, with full hanging lockers to both port and starboard. Other storage areas are located on two sides of the bed to include numerous spacious drawers, and a much larger full-length closet on the port side. The desk to port consists of a swivel stool, foldable vanity, overhead light as well a flat screen TV installed on an articulating mount. Natural lighting surrounds the bed on all sides and ambient LED mood lighting is installed around the edges of the headliner.

A full head with electric toilet, vanity and sink is located off the master stateroom starboard side, which also comes with a separate shower, motion-control lighting, and the best thing - a diesel heater vent, which makes for the most pleasant shower in the winter. All fixtures have recently been updated.

In the forepeak is the forward stateroom which has over and under berths fixed on the port side. Also, to port is an enclosed generous hanging locker and storage cabinet overhead of the top berth. Across from berths on the starboard side are more cabinet storage and affixed storage bins on the shelf above. Ample lighting fixtures and overhead hatch with screen are located on ceiling and bulkheads.

A separate day head with electric toilet, vanity and sink is located on starboard side. Again, all fixtures have recently been updated.
